We've got another behind-the-scenes blog for The Silver Bayonet: Canada, giving you a sneak peek inside the book at one of the game's new bestiary entries...
Along with new soldiers and equipment to customise your special unit, rules for creating and playing games of The Silver Bayonet in North America, and solo, competitive and cooperative scenarios - Canada also adds a whole host of new creatures and beings for you to face on the battlefield. Many of them are rooted in the history and folklore of Canada, and come from the traditions and mythologies of First Nation Peoples from across North America specifically. Today we're giving you a sneak peak at one of them: Baxbaxwalanuksiwe.
Read on for this spirit's bestiary entry from the book, a beautiful piece of art from our friends over at Brainbug Design, and even a look at upcoming additions to North Star Military Figures' official line of The Silver Bayonet miniatures...

"BAXBAXWALANUKSIWE
This spirit has many names, ranging from “Cannibal-at-the-North-End-of-the-world’
to ‘He-who-first-ate-Man-at-the-Mouth-of-the-River”. His massive, eyeless form is bearlike but
without fur and entirely covered in snapping jaws that chant “BAK! BAK! BAK!” (“Eat! Eat! Eat!”).
Much like hunger itself, he will always return to tempt living souls who are without food,
but can be banished for a time..."

As ever, North Star Military Figures have a whole host of awesome new miniatures coming out inspired by the art and setting of The Silver Bayonet: Canada. Check out Baxbaxwalanuksiwe fully painted above, alongside a wendigo and facing down the brave members of a Canadian special unit.
The Silver Bayonet: Canada is out in two weeks in the UK,
and will be out January 2024 in the US.
