It's a new year, and Osprey just keeps chugging along, turning out the best books and artwork that we can managed. So how about a quick look at some of the early classics of this year's artwork!
Some people might argue that the gunfights of Frank and Jesse James don't strictly qualify as military history, but if so, they are missing out on a great story. This classic six-shooter shot comes from Johnny Shumate and will serve as the cover artwork for RAID 35: The Last Ride of the James-Younger Gang due out in October 2012!
Men-at-Arms is set to have another busy year with 10 more titles, including MAA 476: Napoleon's Swiss Troops which contains this artwork by Gerry Embleton. Is that a double-barreled flintlock I see? This book is due out in March 2012.
In the campaign series, Peter Dennis is bringing the tank noise with this shot from CAM 245: Demyansk 1942-43 due out in June 2012.
Finally the Samurai are getting their say in CMD 24: Tokugawa Ieyasu, due out in June 2012. This colourful cavalry charge brought to you from the skillful brush of Giuseppe Rava.
