Some startling news from the BBC website has revealed that global warming has resulted in a breed of Scottish sheep shrinking. Apparently warmer winters have caused a 'paradoxical decrease in size" of the sheep as smaller sheep are now able to survive the winter. Apparently the sheep have shrunk 5% since 1985, and the phenomenon was first noticed in 2007.

It is a fascinating article - but I am convinced it is the warmer, wetter summers which are the cause of these sheep shrinking. After all, when ever I tumble dry my wool jumpers they always come out a lot smaller than when I put them in!
