It appears that Shire\'s upcoming book Scottish Arms and Armour has already been noticed up north, and it has caused a bit of a stir. The Scotsman is just one of several media outlets reporting the book\'s claim that medieval Scottish warriors went into battle in bright yellow, urine stained shirts.

Perhaps this explains why Scottish historical re-enactors tend to favour the later periods…
