Biographical Note

The late John Sandars was born in 1937 and educated at Oundle School. He served as a Marine Engineer Officer in the Royal Navy, latterly in the submarine branch. A well-known military modeller and freelance author, he specialized in the British troops of the Second World War. John Sandars died following major surgery after delivering the manuscript and illustrations for this book.Michael Roffe is a talented illustrator of military subjects who has worked for Osprey for many years.
