Darron L. Wright
LTC Darron L. Wright has served in the U.S. Army for 26 years. He was first assigned to active duty in 1991, when he served as a platoon leader, company executive officer, and company commander with the 3rd Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment. From 2000–01 he served as the chief of operations for 7th Infantry Division. LTC Wright has served three tours in Iraq. He is the recipient of the Bronze Star and the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award. LTC Wright earned his master’s degree in Strategic Studies and National Security Decision Making from the Naval War College. Michael G. Walling is the author of Bloodstained Sea, the 2005 Samuel Eliot Morison Award for Naval Literature. An internationally recognized World War II expert, Walling is a contributing author to the U.S. Naval Institute’s Naval History Magazine and has appeared on The History Channel and PBS as an aviation and naval expert. He has spent more than 45 years collecting stories from veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq. His research has included visits to London; Sarajevo; Croatia; Halifax, Nova Scotia and New Orleans.
