On behalf of the citizens of your wayward prodigal son across the sea, I would like to extend the condolences of all Americans to the British people on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  We join the rest of our Anglospheric family in mourning.

Hi Tarawa,

Thanks for your thoughts mate! Sad times on this side of the pond but we all knew it would come sooner or later. I know lots of you folks in the States loved the Queen too. It was nice to hear President Biden's and former Presidents Trump, Obama and Bush's kind words about the Queen yeasterday.

Many thanks

Likewise, I’d like to extend condolences from ‘Down Under’ (NZ in my case) on the passing of the Queen.  Her long reign has been a steadying influence which cannot be underestimated.

NZ TV stations here have been paying tributes to her and playing some extracts of films of her activities over the years.  Included among this has been B&W film of her WWII service in the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) where she worked as a mechanic and driver of all sorts of vehicles, including the Tilly light truck and ambulances.  She was the only member of the royal family to serve in the British army in WWII.

She will be missed.

A lifetime of service comes to a dignified end. The Queen is dead... Long live the King!

Think it will take a while for everything to sink in. A new king and prime minister in the space of a few days.
