I mentioned to Neil that I certainly want a French version with Carla Bruni as the Queen and Sarkozy as the King. He pointed to the low quality of the pieces, and I answered "Just recruit the model builders in the Forum. Paintybeard could lead the team. " Would make me a French version of this, Painty? FAMAS, Carla Bruni, Eiffel towers and everything? ;-)

I'd be delighted to have a go Amaral. So; Sarkozy as King, Bruni as Queen, Eiffel tower as the Rook, what do you want for bishop, knight and pawn pieces?

Do you think you can capture the real essence of lady Carla Bruni Sarkozy? And don't she is taller than the king. ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wceBQIO0ZjU

The bishop could be a sniper in guillie suit holding an FR-F2 http://postimg.org/image/wh0500gcj/ http://postimg.org/image/5of153jmh/ The knight can be a heavy gunner, armed with the FN MAG, and the pawns can be soldiers holding the FAMAS and knealing. They can have glasses on their helmets just like this: http://postimg.org/image/qlbtgi1b3/ http://postimg.org/image/u4is14eh5/ If you thing about FFL green berets http://postimg.org/image/mmsfqg8w7/ Or another type of knight... http://postimg.org/image/ok60h744t/

Probably a very dark blue to emphasise her skin tones, but of course the customer always has the last word.

And what about the Taliban? I wouldn't change any of the characters, they just a finer painting. What about their shemags? Some are coloured, others less so. Like this one: http://postimg.org/image/65t5ci8k3/ By the way, what I tried to say early is that the French Queen is taller than the King: http://postimg.org/image/8kyksha9z/681a5b70/ http://postimg.org/image/8kyksha9z/

Not sure about Terror Chess, but I acquired an old board game called Feudal, which is set in medieval times, using gridded bases as a battlefield, and moves of figures based on chess. I'd really like such games created for other eras - Isandhlwana, Little Bighorn, etc., as I really like chess and the concept of wargaming mixed together.

The most beautiful chessboard I ever saw in person was a set with Egyptian deities.

Having a good quality chessboard already, I had considered building my own chess sets using the 54mm Zulu War 1879 figures from Wm Britain. Also considered the cheaper option of 54mm plastic, or even miniature chess using 1/72 scale figures.
