After paging through the Bolt Action books and looking at the blog posts about the upcoming Rebels and Patriots title, I think Osprey should consider a series about battles and armies that is just illustrated with photographs of museum quality painted military miniatures in action. Back in 1966 there was a children's book series that told the story of Trenton, Gettysburg, and the Bulge with photographs of dioramas with toy soldiers. Some of the titles were better than others. But with the quality of the painted miniatures we see in the wargaming hobby today, a few soldiers, some buildings and a good camera angle would provide a unique and eye catching way to showcase military history.

I'm not suggesting that Osprey hire someone to assemble and paint a small army of miniatures for just one book, but rather see what the wargaming theme at a convention or local gaming group has, take a few pictures, and finally add some text for context. This year's theme at Historicon is jungle warfare, so perhaps a book about the Pacific War or Vietnam could be created from that. Just an idea.
