Glad to see some more unusual matchups and this is one I'm very much looking forward to.

Oh superb, shame it wasn't an aircraft other than the spitfire that it was dueling just for something different (love spitfires but know enough about them now). Will probaly add it to my wishlist.

I'm looking forward to this one too. Each makes the best pairing for the other in Duel terms- FW190 vs Spit V would be an overmatch, the Spit-109 story has already been covered in Spit I vs 109E (just extrapolate for Spit V and 109F) and we also have Donald Nijboer's Seafire vs Zero title to round out the Spit V's main fighter opponents (except the Oscar, now I come to think of it). As for the Macchi's opposition, Hurricane and P-40 are heavily outclassed, and Spit IX and P-51 go too far in the other direction. This one seems just right- I'm hoping for something in the vein of the excellent Gladiator-CR-42 title. Be interesting to see how the tropicalised Spitfire racks up against the nimble little Italian fighter.

One further thought: while Spit IX vs FW190A certainly wouldn't go amiss, it occurs that the Spitfire and 190A have three Duel titles each- or will have when the Spit V-Macchi title appears. To break some new ground, might I suggest Osprey consider Tempest vs 190D?

Tempest vs 190D makes a lot of sense. tacticaly its interessing. Tempest was used as a fighter-bomber and it really was a superb fighter at low level and the Dora was used (strangely giving its credencials at high level) as a low altitude cover fighter. So its a good and out-of-the-box idea. I approve BobG...
