Osprey will be working from home from Tuesday 17th March. We plan to continue all our operations, while reducing risk of infection by having staff work from home. Please note that we are doing our best to manage incoming post and parcels.   Topic Description
Posted by: xeneize I did read "Gettysburg" of Stephen Sears, a very good book, but the supreme moment of the battle, perhaps of the war, is all about the confederate side, if Lee was guilty for the defeat, or longstreet or Pickett, the Unión side is not well covered, all is about the Confederate mistakes and not the Unión brave resistance. I seek in the net, but is the same thing, was Lee guilty. was Longstreet etc. In my opinión, the decisive factor was the Unión superb artillery and the infantry resilience.

You should read Osprey's Gettysburg 1863-high tide of the Confederacy, a mighty good read.

If only Lee had listened to Longstreet things might have gone better, Longstreet had proposed marching around the Meade's forces

For me, ALL the campaign was a colosal Lee's mistake.

Have you read "Gettysburg Day 3" By Jeffry Wert, My Enemy My Brother by Joseph Persico or Noah Andre Truduea's "Gettysburg". All cover the 3rd day extensively and retrace the Union Forces clearly.
