Viewing Topic "Long wait for a new Books Back in Stock Blog"
  Topic Description
Posted by: hobbe62 Nowadays It looks like we only get a new Books Back in Stock Blog every third month. The latest and somewhat disappointing list appeared in November (after three months waiting). With no Back in Stock Blog in December and only a few days left of January without one it looks like the three-month-interval has became the standard time between the blogs.

Agree, waiting too. And: Osprey has started with more e-books, are this instead of reprinting on paper the old books?

One of the reasons for the delay is that we are working on a system that will essentially render the Books Back in Stock blog unnecessary - by bringing all of our books back into stock on a true print-on-demand basis. This system is actually already in place for bookstores in the UK and Rest of World. In North America this system will launch in February for bookstores. We are currently testing the system with our website and should be able to offer the service shortly.

Thanx! This explains a lot. I must have stumbled upon the testing this autumn, since I was able to order several titles that hadn't been listed as Back in Stock. During the order process I got the message that they were awaiting re-printing (Printed and dispatced within 10 to 15 days). This solution worked perfect. When the system is up and running and the Back in Stock Blog has been scrapped it will save a lot of time and trouble for all of us. And this information also means I don't have to ask you about my unexpected experiece with your print-on-demand service.
