It's nearly August and that highlight of the publishing year: Ospreys reveal for 2018.

What can we hope for over the next 12 months? I'm hoping that the Oxfordshire Gods will smile upon us and that a couple of interesting "Raid" titles will make a welcome return.

To fans like us it is a month long festival where we hold our wish lists like bingo cards to see if any of our suggestions will hit the shelves next year. Put it another way, it is the NFL Draft for military history lovers.

I too am hoping for the return of raid! Also hope osprey won't miss out on a lot of free advertising and publish some more world war one titles. As at the start of the anniversary of passendaele, it is all over the news today. Just think if they were publishing a book in connection with it.

I hope we don´t have to wait until beginning/Mid September(as have happened before) to find out the campaign titles för the last half of 2018.

Yes, we all look forward to seeing the unveiling of Osprey’s scheduled publications over the coming calendar year.  I too am one of those who would very much like to see a return of Raid titles.  Remember when we submitted suggestions for Raid titles to Osprey?  Well, that was two years ago (August/September 2015) and we have received no feedback at all from Osprey since nor has there been any Raid titles since that time.

We already know most of Osprey’s publications to be released during the first four months of 2018 and there are no Raid titles amongst them.  So the omens do not look good for Raid books for 2018.

Pish, KenA! Don't be faint-hearted! There are no Fortress books showing for the first 4 months, but I'm pretty certain we will get at least one in 2018. So of course we will get some Raid titles. (But they will all be about WW2 and I shall grumble about that...)

Well Painty, as it happens there is a Fortress book showing on various web sites for release in the first 4 months of 2018.  It is: “Defenses of Bermuda 1612-1995” (FOR 112), 20 February 2018.  Terrance McGovern & Edward C. Harris (authors); Adam Hook (illustrator).  ISBN-13: 9781472825964.  So things look substantially more positive for Fortress titles in 2018 than they do for Raid.  Nevertheless, your attitude is to be admired even though I fear that once again we will all be disappointed.

Defences of Bermuda?  Seems a little bit left field to me but I'll give it a try.

Hi guys!!! Todays the day!!! I love the big reveal – always look forward to it!

What am I hoping for??? British Infantryman in Northwest Europe 1944-45 (WAR)? SOE 1940-1945 (ELI)? International Forces in the Russian Civil War 1918-20 (MAA)? Tornado Units in the Gulf War 1991 (COM)? Me 262 Vs P-51 Mustang – North West Europe 1944-45 (DUEL)? Fortress Singapore (FOR)? Britenfeld 1631 (CAM)? Oudenard 1708 (CAM)? Tannenburg 1914 (CAM)? Burma 1941-42 (CAM)? Parliamentarian Cavalryman Vs Royalist Cavalryman: English Civil War 1642-51 (CBT)? I’d snatch any of those right up!!!

As for the forthcoming title on Burmuda you might not think it but for a fairly small island its absolutely covered in forts!!! Seriously, check it out if you ever get chance, there’s loads of ‘em all over the island!

Come on them Osprey! Lets see what 2018 has in store for us!!!

Adam C there are some very good suggestions on your list,  fill in quite a few gaps. I'd go for nearly all of them.

Hi Paul!

It was just a few selections from my wish list that’s all. Nice to know I’m not barking up the wrong tree though! Glad you liked the sound of them. Hopefully we’ll see a few of them! Fingers crossed!

Osprey – Come on then chaps! It’s the 3rd August – hit us with your first 2018 selection!
