Okay, so we have a book about the Inca fortresses, but what about the men? For some reason, Osprey's books on the Conquistadores have focussed on the Cortez-Aztec wars, but what about Pizarro vs Atahuallpa? Surely there's a good story in there?! What does everyone think? Campaign: The Conquest of Peru Or: Warrior: Inca Suggestions, anyone?

Having been to Peru, seen the majestic beauty of Machu Pichu (thoroughly recomend it!) and owning said Fortress I'd happily buy either Wicked. |

Suggest owning Fortifications of the Incas? Funny, I've always been guaranteed to see at least one copy in every Half-Price Books I've been in. That and Warrior Peoples of East Africa. |

Is a very good topic, and even in Latin America is put aside. In this times is politically correct speak against the europen conquest, even if most of us have european names and speak spanish. |

Tarawa, I think I go to the same bookstores as you. I haven't bought it yet, but going through the Fortress book made me think of this. Plus the fact that if I make another big journey, yes, it'll probably be South America. |

That said, Inca or Aztec warrior would make an interesting addition to the warrior series. |

tarawa90 thats hilarious! I actually bought the Inca fortress title in a discount book shop. Only cost £2. It was worth it at that price just for the colour plates. Guess this title wasn't a commercial success then? |

@Nick Hunter: There's already a pretty good Aztec Warrior title - see Warrior No. 32. However, whereas Aztec military dress, training and organization are pretty well documented in both Spanish and indigenous records, I'm skeptical as to whether there's a |

Thanx, KL, that's another thing I was wondering about: is there rrally enough information about the Inca (and other South American cultures) for a full book? Guess those two colour plates in MAA: The Conquistadors is all we'll get. |

The Incas were great warriors. The Romans of South America. Great builders as well as great warriors. They definitely deserve a book of their own. We have books on the Aztecs, why not the Incas. The Incas very nearly blunted the Spanish conquest, that's how good they really were. |
