It would be nice if Osprey could do for the Royal Guard Regiments and Companies what has already been done for the Imperial Guard. If its good enough for the fat corsican tyrant.........

What's the point of insulting the fat corsican tyrant if no one will rise to the bait! Come on chaps, give me an argument! |

Crested Owl: You can't trust the pre-photography portraits of Bonaparte or anybody else. Oliver Cromwell famously ordered that his official portrait should be refinished "warts and all!" Some years ago there was a Nelson & Napoleon exhibition at the Maritime Museum in London. One of the exhibits was one of Bonapartes coats, from his time as a major general of the republic. The fine pair of boxers shoulders shown in his portraits are completely false. He was exceptionally narrow shouldered and in later life would have become pear shaped. I also suspect that he was carrying a lot more weight than is shown in those portraits. PS, I have put on weight since I retired, but fortunately I haven't turned into a homicidal maniac! |

Alright. But you can't trust photography portraits neither. There's a thing called Photoshop! |

Crested Owl: Fair enough! If Bonaparte had had access to photoshop he would still have been pear shaped, but the stalk would have been t the bottom. |
