Osprey will be working from home from Tuesday 17th March. We plan to continue all our operations, while reducing risk of infection by having staff work from home. Please note that we are doing our best to manage incoming post and parcels. For the time being please refrain from sending items to our offices and please assume that items that you have sent to us, have not arrived with their intended recipient. Our priority remains the wellbeing of staff, authors, customers, freelancers, suppliers and distributors. We would like to thank all for their support whilst we transition to virtual operations.

  Topic Description
Posted by: Amaral When the South lost some veterans migrated to Brazil and founded settlements in the interior of São Paulo. The "Festa dos Confederados" at Cemitério do Campo takes place in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, SP, every year. In this cemitery there is 18 soldiers and five generals of the Confederacy resting in it. Known as "the American cemitery", it was created to bury the Protestant immigrants as they couldn't be buried in Catholic cemiteries. The text is in Portuguese but the pictures speak for themselves. http://g1.globo.com/sp/piracicaba-regiao/noticia/2014/04/guerra-civil-dos-eua-e-celebrada-em-cemiterio-de-imigrantes-em-sao-paulo.html

It's a possibility, as we were the last (together with the Cubans) to end slavery. Some Confederates helped the Imperial Army in the war against Paraguay.
