Posted by: davbenbak22 Several of the Campaign Series books have a "Wargaming the Battle" section on the last few pages. They feature DBR for troop/unit breakdown. Now that Osprey is involved with FOG and FOGR it would be great if they could publish a series that features these wargame rules for historical battles and not just tournament play.

I would love to have the Wargaming the Battle feature again in Campaign titles. I think it would be way more interesting than the "Battlefield Today" chapter which most often (not always) is only of interest to people planning to visit the battleside. The idea to publish books with historic scenarios is also highly interesting. I am not sure if Osprey is actively pushing FOG and FOGR any longer (they seem to concentrate on Bolt Action and the Osprey Wargame series) but regardless of the period and games this would be an attractive addition to the Osprey offering. It should also be cost effective since certain elements esp. maps and illustrations could be reused from "regular" titles.

A real blast from the past there. I remember some of them were quite interesting, probably because the author was a wargamer himself (e.g. Peter Hofschröer). All in all it's probably better as extra material on the website though (I think there's an article on wargaming Badajoz). The Battlfield Today probably has a much wider appeal.
