Posted by: siorac54 Battle of Champaubert Battle of Montmirail Battle of Vauchamps Battle of Montereau Battle of Craonne Battle of Laon.... All these last battles in Northern France where Napoleon showed his last genuis glimpse in movement warfare before abdication & going to Elba. A wish I would see in my CAM series collection.

The Saxons used horses to move around, but not as conventional cavalry. There is some evidence (albeit very loose evidence) that the late Saxon army used cavelry to harrass routing troops after a fray, but this does not mean they used horse in battle.

A CAM title about Napoleon's 1814 campaign in France was pitched by Dr. Robert Forczyk to Osprey a few years back (IIRC) and rejected.

I suppose Osprey *might* reconsider if the Waterloo campaign trilogy does well...

Indeed. Waterloo & belgium campaign had already been issued in CAM & over treated.
We need an issue on Eylau & Friedland as well.
If a campaign needs 3 volumes would be Russian Cammpaign 1812.

Strange if they rejected that, those battles are not as well known as some others but are favourites among military history buffs and wargamers. Please reconsider.

A Campaign book such as "NAPOLEON AT BAY: THE BATTLE FOR FRANCE 1814" would be awesome... I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Eylau and Friedland definitely need to be covered by an Osprey title, too.

Great idea, those battles are perennial favourites among wargamers and military historians. They were also quite small and should fit the Campaign format nicely even if bunched into one volume.

For what it is worth I think Campaign titles on "NAPOLEON: THE BATTLE FOR FRANCE 1814" and "EYLAU / FRIEDLAND should definitely be covered by an Osprey. I am very much looking forward to the multi volume waterloo set. Paul

the whole 1814 France campaign is a huge gap in the CAM series and it does need covering.

As for other gaps in in the Napoleonic CAMS, the battle of the pyramids needs a CAM title and as as other forum poster have suggested, Eylau and a 3 part CAM on Napoleon's Russian adventure which in effect costs him the cream of his Grand Armee

Yep definitley the battle of the pyramids needs a CAM title and as as suggested a 3 part CAM on Napoleon's Russian adventure. Can imagine the artwork now.
