I would love to see a CAM book devoted to this battle. It was a great victory of the Confederates led by Forrest against the Union under Sturgis. it is a great shame that the National Park service cares so little only to leave a monument on a one acre ground there. big battle too and one that deserves far more attention!

I agree that the battle itself if tactically interesting, on a more strategic overview it was that important in the end. It was a delay of the inevitable. I think I would rather see campaigns titles for the civil war further west like the New Mexico Campaign or the Pea Ridge Campaign. I think they are more unusual in the former and more important on the latter. Though I guess as a Northerner I have a different view on Forrest |
