Hi Holly,

That's great. Hope you can correct it for the re-prints. Please don't think I'm having a go - I'm not, I just like to see your books be as good as they can be. As you say, the odd typo or error is inevitable in a complex manuscript but if they can be identified and corrected quickly then thats good for everbody in my opinion.

Cheers,

Adam

Hi Adam,

Further update.

The author of Campaign 367 agrees the photograph is in error; the wrong image is showing for the caption. We will replace the image with the correct one at reprint. Thanks again for letting us know.

All the best,

Holly at Osprey

Thank you for raising this, Adam, and we are checking these with the respective authors.

Sometimes errors do creep in to these detailed and complex works, and we do our best to avoid them.

We will confirm once the authors have had the opportunity to respond.

All the best,

Holly at Osprey

Hi folks,

What's going on with Osprey's aircraft recognition in the latest WWII Campaign titles (Nos 367 & 368)???

I received my copies yeatserday and stright away while just flicking through them noticed two glaring caption errors that need ammending in future re-prints if possible.

Firstly Campaign 367 The Finnish-Soviet Winter War 1939-40: Page 81, top right image. The caption says it shows a Finnish pilot with his Fokker D.XXI. It dosnt! It shows a Finnish pilot with his MS.406. What's more I dont even think this image is from the Winter War, it's from the Continuation War of 1941-44. This picture needs changing for one of a D.XXI.

Secondly Campaign 368 Stalingrad 1942-43 (2): Page 93, top right image. The caption says it shows a MiG 3. I'm pretty sure it shows either a Yak 3 or a late war Yak-9. Like many Soviet WWII memorials they tend to use later equipment than the battle they are commemorating. This was simply becuase most were build post war and therefore they used what they had in abundance rather than rarer early war gear which, by that stage, would have been either destroyed or scrapped. Really this caption needs re-writing.

Obviously, if somebody wants to prove me wrong on this I'll be the first to put my hand up and withdraw my critisim but I'm pretty sure in both cases here. These errors are annoying and mare what are otherwise really good books that I was looking forward to.

Please could Osprey look to sort this out in future re-prints?

Many thanks

Adam
