This book is not limited to US Delta forces in Iraq, but provides detail on Special Forces from other nations including Britain, Australia, and Canada. Equipment, clothing, and vehicles are key components included and color illustrations are provided by Richard Hook. However, the majority of the book is dedicated to detailing some of the recently uncovered operations conducted by the Special Forces since 2003. Much of the war has been criticized by the media and population in general; however, this text is able to accentuate the successes of those fighting behind enemy lines and often in highly dangerous situations. Packed full of color illustrations and photographs provided by those in the field, this is an excellent resource for those with a penchant for the military.

While that alone could easily fill up 64 pages, Neville still managed to squeeze in a rather thorough description of the operator's weaponry and kit (I'm talking right down to the brand of gloves worn). The book highlights the many SOF successes in Iraq, which like Afghanistan, has proven their significance in achieving strategic objectives in both modern and asymmetric warfare. Bottom line: The book is a must read for those interested in learning more about Special Operations Forces in Iraq.
