As we near the end of March, it’s time to showcase some of the new pieces of artwork that will be included in our upcoming June titles.

This plate from St Lô 1944, depicts the various weapons that were used by the First US Army during their attempt to secure St Lô in France. One of the most common weapons used can be seen in the foreground as a soldier holds a rifle grenade. Other weapons seen here are the M1A1 2.36in. “bazooka” rifle launcher, and the 60mm M2 light mortar.
Combat 25: Canadian Corps Soldier vs Royal Bavarian Soldier By Stephen Bull
ILLUSTRATED BY Adam Hook
This plate from Canadian Corps Soldier vs Royal Bavarian Soldier depicts the attack on Bellevue. Two Bavarian soldiers, armed with grenade bags, have worked their way through shell holes under covering fire.
Campaign 309: Shanghai and Nanjing 1937 by Benjamin Lai
ILLUSTRATED BY Giuseppe Rava
This image from Shanghai and Nanjing 1937 depicts a scene from John Rabe’s diary. Rabe, a member of the Nazi Party, stayed behind during the Nanjing Occupation to help prevent the atrocities of the Japanese army: ‘6:00 PM. Six Japanese climbed over my garden wall and attempted to open the gates from the inside. When I arrived and shone my flashlight in the face of one of the bandits, he reached for his pistol but dropped it quickly enough when I yelled at him and held my swastika armband under his nose.’
