A couple of years ago, when Osprey acquired Shire Publications, there was considerable excitement in some quarters about Shire\'s small, but interesting military history collection. For awhile, we considered selling them on the Osprey site, but in the end, decided to keep them separate.
Then came Vanished Armies. A Shire book just so darn cool we couldn\'t keep it off the Osprey site. In many ways, it is a mega-Men-at-Arms, 80-odd colour plates, each with 4 -12 figures, all of them painted by first-hand observation!
You want this book. Trust me, you do.
