Recently retired from two decades of teaching at leading Western defense colleges, he has also served as a strategic planner and is a retired US Army lieutenant colonel with an intelligence background. An award-winning author of 15 books and more than 70 major journal articles and book chapters, he is now an independent historian and consultant, and lives in Alabama.
