Osprey will be working from home from Tuesday 17th March. We plan to continue all our operations, while reducing risk of infection by having staff work from home. Please note that we are doing our best to manage incoming post and parcels. For the time being please refrain from sending items to our offices and please assume that items that you have sent to us, have not arrived with their intended recipient. Our priority remains the wellbeing of staff, authors, customers, freelancers, suppliers and distributors. We would like to thank all for their support whilst we transition to virtual operations.

Victory in Japan - 15 August, 1945.

In Military History, Featured

On the afternoon of 15 August, 1945 Emperor Hirohito made a radio announcement to the Japanese people. He had agreed to the terms of the Potsdam Declaration, signalling Japan's surrender and the end of World War II.

To commemorate this historic event Osprey have partnered with /r/AskHistorians, a popular subreddit, to host a Pacific War competition.

All you need to do to enter is head over to /r/AskHistorians and ask/answer the questions related to the Pacific War. We have three sets of books to send out - one set going for the best question, one for the most interesting answer and one going to a lucky user chosen at random.

More details for the competition and the prizes can be found here.

Good luck, and happy VJ Day!
