Osprey will be working from home from Tuesday 17th March. We plan to continue all our operations, while reducing risk of infection by having staff work from home. Please note that we are doing our best to manage incoming post and parcels. For the time being please refrain from sending items to our offices and please assume that items that you have sent to us, have not arrived with their intended recipient. Our priority remains the wellbeing of staff, authors, customers, freelancers, suppliers and distributors. We would like to thank all for their support whilst we transition to virtual operations.

Francis Back 1959–2017

In Military History, Featured

We are very sorry to hear about the passing of Francis Back. Francis illustrated several books for Osprey including Men-at-Arms 211: Napoleon’s Overseas Army and Men-at-Arms 227: Napoleon’s Sea Soldiers.

He was born in Montreal in 1959 and had a distinguished career in illustration and art creating works for books, museums, national parks, magazines and periodicals across Canada, Britain and the USA.

Our thoughts are with his family at this time.

Sorry to hear of his passing. I particularly liked his work on the French Army in the American War of Independence. My condolences to family and friends.
