Osprey will be working from home from Tuesday 17th March. We plan to continue all our operations, while reducing risk of infection by having staff work from home. Please note that we are doing our best to manage incoming post and parcels. For the time being please refrain from sending items to our offices and please assume that items that you have sent to us, have not arrived with their intended recipient. Our priority remains the wellbeing of staff, authors, customers, freelancers, suppliers and distributors. We would like to thank all for their support whilst we transition to virtual operations.

A guest blog from Osprey's MD Richard Sullivan, who headed to Crown Meadow on Sunday to witness a fantastic reenactment of the battle of Evesham. Clearly he was inspired to go after reading Campaign 285: Lewes and Evesham 1264-65.

On Sunday I saddled up and went over to see the 750th anniversary of the battle of Evesham, where Simon de Montfort met a gruesome end in the Second Barons’ War at the hands of the future Edward I. The following pictures give you just a taste of the event which saw an army of medieval reenactors march and fight in chainmail and armour - an impressive feat in the scorching sun.

Following the battle itself, complete with stirring cavalry charges, arrow storms and hand to hand combat, I retired to the medieval fair and examined the wide range of replica and children’s weaponry on sale. I finally took refuge in the Wargames Illustrated tent where six assassins were hunting Simon de Montfort on a slightly smaller scale.

Where is Painty in these photos? Or did he succumb early in the battle?
